I love this moment from Jessica & Will’s wedding! So sweet.
You all know that I am a total Moment Junkie. I don’t care if a bride is wearing a dress she bought at a thrift store or if she’s wearing a 5k designer gown. It’s the moments that matter the most during a wedding & that’s what I’m there to capture.
So when my favorite wedding blog in the world, Moment Junkie, nominated my photo for Photo of the Year, I was beyond excited. Out of the 365 photos they published last year, they nominated 25. And one of mine was in there! Holy moly!
To all of you that voted for me & shared the photo, THANK YOU! To Lauren & JD for having me at their wedding to capture this moment, THANK YOU! Garrett, you mischievous little ringbearer, THANK YOU! I’m happy to announce that I placed third in Moment Junkie’s Photo of the Year contest. I couldn’t have done it without you. I didn’t even expect to get close to placing. So many amazing photographers were nominated.
So today is a happy day. :)
oh happy day!
There are a million other things I need to be doing, but instead, I’m procrastinating by writing a blog post that should have been done a long time ago. Last month I was so excited to get a sample album from RedTree Albums!
This is, hands down, the most gorgeous album I’ve ever seen in person. I’m so happy to offer RedTree Albums to my clients.
RedTree has these beautiful fabric cover options. The leathers are awesome too, but I am such a fan of the earthy, organic feel that the fabrics have. You can also deboss into the cover or have a photo cameo, I just opted to go with a simple cover for my sample album.
As you can see, the pages are super thick & the binding is made to last. It is definitely an album that will be an heirloom. The pages also lay flat & are creased, so I can design a spread across the whole page if we want.
I also love these RedTree Albums because they are handmade in Louisville, KY. That’s pretty dang local when it comes to flushmount album production!
So, what do you think? Get in touch & I can show you all the options they offer!
I went through all my work from last year & I for real chose my favorites. It was completely instinctual. I tried to stop from thinking about my audience. I purely chose what I loved, not what I thought others would love. And you know what I found?
Lots of smiles. Lots of dancing. Lots of sweet moments & a few hilarious ones. And last but certainly not least, lots of love.
You know what I didn’t find? Cakes, bouquets, shoes, and other details. I didn’t choose one photo without a person in it. That was totally unintentional, but I think it’s pretty telling. People are the most important thing about my work.
2011 was a doozy. I’d like to thank every one of you for making this year possible. Thank you. It was my first full year as a wedding photographer & to say it was awesome would be an understatement. 2010 was the year I fell in love with wedding photography, but 2011 is the year I came into my own. I can’t wait to see what 2012 brings.
I’ve already got so much lined up that I’m excited about. 2012 couples, get ready. Your wedding will be here before you know it.
Again, thank you thank you thank you. Here’s to a great 2012 for everyone!
I love this little boy’s enthusiasm at Melissa & Dave’s wedding!
