A while back Carin, Chris, and I headed out to shoot some engagement photos in Knoxville. I absolutely love this couple. Not just cause they are up for anything, and completely in love, but because I knew them both before they knew each other! Carin & I go way back (6th grade way back). Chris & I were both in the trumpet line in high school. They pretty much embody the idea of high school sweethearts. I might talk more about them when I blog their wedding that’s coming up this Friday! Anyway, be sure to leave some blog love for this lovely couple.
My friend Sarah works for Read To Succeed in Rutherford County and she was looking for photographers to cover their annual event, Reading in the Schools Day . Sarah was my editor-in-chief when I worked as photo editor for MTSU’s student paper. She’s also an AWESOME writer. Seriously, check out her blog. I jumped at the chance to help out because I love kids and books!
Rock Springs Elementary in La Vergne hosted a literary parade. Each class had a different kid’s book. It was adorable! For about an hour I really wanted to be an elementary school teacher… I mean come on, they get to march in literary parades! Who wouldn’t love that?
When I heard the Beatle’s songs Rachel & Sheridan chose for their wedding ceremony, I knew we’d be a good match! Rachel walked down the aisle to “In My Life” by a live acoustic guitarist. It was beautiful.
Rachel & Sheridan’s chose Melrose Church in Fiddler’s Grove for their ceremony. Fiddler’s Grove is a cute little historical pioneer village in Lebanon, Tennessee. I’ve passed Lebanon many times while travelling between Nashville & Knoxville, but never had a chance to stop. It’s a cute little town!
It started to rain after the ceremony but Rachel & Sheridan were troopers while I grabbed some portraits. Then everyone headed to Baird Chapel on the Cumberland University campus to celebrate! Big props to Sheridan & his nephew for the most enthusiastic performance of the chicken dance I’ve ever seen! I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to document the day. Here are a few of my favorites. Thanks again Rachel & Sheridan!
A few weeks ago I headed out to Ijams Nature Park in Knoxville to meet up with Sara and her adorable sons, Ian & Rowan. I absolutely love Ijams. It was the perfect place for the kids to run around and for me to run around after them. I absolutely love childrens photography and Ijams is just perfect.
The boys are hilarious. I had so much fun and I can’t wait to photograph them again as they grow! Within 10 minutes Ian spilled bubbles on his shirt and started running around like crazy. So we embraced it. We let the boys be boys, and this is what came from it.
