one shot- Chelsey & Evan

I can’t wait to share this session of Nashville Wedding Photographers Chelsey & Evan!

Geek info: This photo was made using the Brenizer method . Basically it’s a way to have amazing bokeh with a wide shot. This photo is 9 shots stitched together in photoshop. This is the first time I’ve ever done it for clients so it was super fun. According to Brett Maxwell’s calculator, the photo above is equivalent to a 61mm shot at f0.91. Pretty dang cool, huh?Photo geeks, check it out! :)

Published in Get Married Magazine!

Oh boy. I’M SO GIDDY.

The mailman brought me a good thing today. The Winter 2011 magazine of Get Married. I’m not getting married, so you are probably asking yourself, why the heck is Alex so excited about a bridal magazine? CAUSE I’VE GOT A PICTURE IN IT. HELLZ YEAH. This is the first time I have ever been published in a real life mail-man-brings-it-to-ya magazine so please excuse my crazy excitement. It’s been so long since Get Married approached me about the photo that I completely forgot about it until today! It’s on the back page if anyone has a copy :)

Check it out!

p.s. the front cover picture is NOT mine- just showing ya what the mag looks like :)

p.p.s. harvey never leaves me alone

When Josh emailed me last year, he told me that he & Mai-Li were going to have a simple wedding in his grandmother’s backyard with a huge field & a mountain as a backgrop. UH HECK YEAH. Then he told me he proposed to Mai-Li when they were both living in China. UM HECK YEAH, I LIVED IN CHINA.

Seriously, I felt like we were a couple-photographer match made in heaven.

How dreamy is this smoky mountain wedding? Josh’s grandmother lives in Cosby, TN, which is about 10-15 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. My favorite place in the world. East Tennessee really is a special place.

Josh & Mai-Li, congratulations! Thanks for having me along on the ride :)

Jess & Tyler’s wedding preview

Oh my oh my oh my goodness.

This weekend was marvelous. The venue, Whitestone Inn was marvelous. The bride & groom were marvelous. And the song that Tyler surprised Jess with during their first dance was marvelous. Can’t wait to share more.

Congratulations to Jess & Tyler! Have a FANTASTIC honeymoon.
