Alicia & Patrick- The Reserve at Bluebird Hill wedding

My oh my, I’ve got a doozy for you! I am so excited to finally share this Reserve at Bluebird Hill Wedding. Everything about this wedding was right up my alley- it was truly a celebration of Alicia & Patrick!

One of Alicia’s sisters, Ashley, is an incredible Baltimore wedding photographer, so they knew how to throw a wedding. It was an honor to get the seal of approval from Ashley! The day started at the Oliver Hotel where Alicia & her adorable bridesmaids got ready. Then we moved to one of my FAVORITE East Tennessee wedding venues, the Reserve at Bluebird Hill. Seriously, it is a photographers dream. There are so many photo possibilities & the reception is GORGEOUS & full of natural light! The Reserve at Bluebird Hill weddings are so fun- I could shoot a million times there & never get bored.

Even though the details of this wedding were perfect, my favorite part was the LOVE. Families, friends, bridesmaids, groomsmen- everyone was SO happy for Alicia & Patrick to be married & it really shows through. That’s what I love to photograph the most. Congratulations to Alicia & Patrick!

3 years of weddings- a retrospect

September 10th was my 3 year anniversary of shooting weddings. THREE YEARS! It feels like I’ve been shooting weddings forever. It also feels like I started yesterday. To commemorate, I’ve blogged one photo from every wedding I’ve shot (I didn’t include the 50+ I’ve helped other photographers shoot). While studying photojournalism in school, I had no clue that I’d fall so in love with wedding photography. I’m so glad that I did. It’s an absolute joy to look look back at these photos.

My clients are all incredibly important to me. I admit I cry at most weddings! I appreciate each & every one of them for trusting me enough to photograph their wedding. It’s a BIG freakin’ deal to me. There’s one photo from each wedding, in chronological order starting from my first wedding on September 10th, 2010 & ending with my latest one on September 1st, 2013.

I love that these wedding photos are from Knoxville, Nashville, Chattanooga, the Tri-Cities, China, Maryland, & more. I love that I continue to see clients at weddings because they recommend me to their friends. I love that I can get on Facebook & stalk all of my past clients who are starting the most adorable little families. And I especially love every single that person that cheers for me. Without you, this would be impossible. Thank you.

Ashley & Eric- East Tennessee Engagement Photos

Ashley & Eric are getting married this weekend in Abingdon, VA!! It’d be nice if I posted their engagement photos before their wedding, so here we are! :)

I photographed their engagement photos in the beautiful hills of East Tennessee. To be more exact, were at the Red House Flower Farm in Blaine, TN. That farm is such a treasure for photographers! It was the perfect location for these sweet East Tennessee engagement photos. We didn’t let a little rain get in our way. Ashley & Eric, I can’t wait to celebrate with you this weekend!!

Luci & Joshua – Knoxville Backyard Wedding

Oh sweet Luci & Josh. You guys are in for a treat with this one- there’s just so many memorable moments! This Knoxville backyard wedding was held last fall at Luci’s parent’s home. I really enjoy backyard weddings because everything feels so personal. Luci & Josh’s friends and family really came together to make this a great wedding.

I loved all of their little touches- from the dried wedding bouquets to the male bridesmaid in Luci’s bridal party. Don’t even get me started on their adorable pup Samwise. You might remember him from their engagement session. Luci & Josh wrote their own vows and chose poems to read to each other- so sweet! I’m honored to have this wedding featured in OffBeat Bride– check it out for more great details about the wedding & the couple!

Luci & Josh, I’m so happy I had the opportunity to get to know both of you! Thanks for having me at your backyard wedding! Congrats!

Oh sweet Julia & Will. What an amazing Smithview Pavilion wedding! I love how the couple infused their personalities into everything- from Rita’s Ice to an R2D2 cake. Their first look was incredibly sweet and it gave us time to get plenty of portraits & wedding party shots. I loved Julia & Will’s intimate wedding- the knot tying ceremony was awesome! One of my favorite moments of the day was the last dance- I think I shed a tear or two!

Huge thanks to Andrew Childress for joining me as the second photographer. Nicholas & Keaton are kick-ass videographers & I loved working with them- check out their video from this wedding HERE. And kudos to Smithview Pavilion for having such a wicked venue! I love the open air reception site & all of the cute quirky details. Congrats Julia & Will! I hope you have many adventures in Virginia!
